Born in Idaho Falls and raised in Utah's Salt Lake Valley, I grew up in a large, blended family where something exciting was always happening. Being raised in such an active house was a wonderful start for me, and I learned a great deal about people and how to work with them from my family members' diverse personalities. More than just work, however, I also learned how to play with them; I developed a passion for problem and puzzle solving, team sports, and, of course, video games.
I went through the usual motions of American-kid life: school, friends, jobs, etc. After a year of college at the University of Utah, I served a mission for the LDS church in Sweden at age 19. Upon returning, I enrolled in classes as often as resources and life would allow, and I finally graduated Summa Cum Laude in Mass Communication Technology in 2011.
Driven by an interest in entertainment technology and user experience design, I specialized in media production of all varieties as I earned my Bachelor's degree. Graphic, web, video, sound, and interactive media production are all part of my repertoire, and I hope to continue developing those skills throughout my career. However, my main purpose was to find a route that led me into the video game development industry.
Just before I graduated, I discovered the U of U's Entertainment Arts & Engineering: Master Games Studio, and I knew that's where I belonged. I am currently enrolled in the EAE:MGS, heavily involved in the development of our group thesis game, and loving every minute of the satisfyingly grueling environment!
